Nordstrom Extends the Size Range

October 2, 2017

Nordstrom has been trying to push the envelope of women's sizing for the past year—asking popular women's fashion brands to regularly go beyond 2 to 12, to include sizes 0 to 18 in their fashion lines. The concept of inclusive sizing—with larger sizes sold in the same department alongside other sizes—launches this month in Los Angeles at the Westfield Century City store with lingerie and swimwear and will include dresses, denim, and outerwear by holiday. The brain child of Executive VP and General Manager Tricia Smith, she told Women's Wear Daily that with the average American woman a size 12 or 14, all it took to convince 40 brands was "articulating the need, presenting a solution, and then prioritizing."
