FIDM Alumna and Hollywood favorite Monique Lhuillier joined the Paris haute couture shows for the first time last week. Showing her Spring 2018 line, the romantic designer apparently "set a new bar, with everything from shimmying gowns to puff-sleeve Chantilly lace blouses and high waist trousers worn with bow belts to smocked chiffon dresses," and more according to Booth Moore in The Hollywood Reporter.
Lhuillier told the Reporter she was inspired by the visits she made to Parisian speciality shops while she was a student at FIDM, "my entree to specializing in fantasy evening wear."
Global travel is just one of the many special experiences available to FIDM Students. Our annual Study Tours take them to major fashion and design centers such as New York City, Rome, Paris, and Milan.
