FIDM Graduate Matt Baldwin (pictured, second from right), the designer behind the Kansas City-based Baldwin Denim and Collection, will be starring in a new Amazon unscripted docuseries, The Fashion Fund, premiering on Thursday, February 25, 2016. The half-hour series follows 10 designers as they compete to be CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Designer of the Year. The winner will receive $400,000 and mentorship from industry professionals. The competition is overseen by Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg, chairperson of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The 10 designers will prove their place in the future of American fashion to a panel of judges, including J.Crew's Jenna Lyon's, Neiman Marcus's Ken Downing, and designer Reed Krakoff.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was established in 2003 to foster American design talent and notable graduates include Alexander Wang, Rodarte, and Proenza Schouler, among other designers. To coincide with the premiere of the 10-episode series, Amazon Fashion is launching a dedicated retail experience that allows viewers to shop the collections of the season's contestants.
