The Material Connexion, a consulting service headquartered in New York, is at the epicenter of all that is sustainable and innovative in textiles. When FIDM Textile & Materials Manager Kristine Upesleja visited the cutting edge collection in 2012, she knew how much FIDM Students would benefit from hands-on experience with fabrics of the future. It didn't take long for her to convince President Hohberg to join the organization and start the college library's Textiles & Design Research Room on the LA campus. "The MCX Library is a tremendous asset to our library," says Upesleja. "We're enjoying a major materials revolution," and our students have access to the world's biggest materials collection.
