How did your advisor help with the process? Susan is so knowledgable and was there for me through the whole application and interview process, from beginning to end. I could not have asked for a more supportive and informative advisor. I am so grateful to have her as my advisor.

Tell us a bit about yourself. I grew up in Orange County, so I am a total beach bum. I love swimming, running, scuba diving, and traveling. I have lived in four different countries and have traveled to over 30 countries.

What are your proudest accomplishments so far?
My proudest accomplishments are graduating from university in 2015, and my year of teaching English abroad. After graduating, I moved to Prague, Czech Republic where I took a teaching job at an elementary school. I spent one year teaching English to Czech students. This experience was extremely challenging, but it was one of the most rewarding years yet.

What made FIDM right for you? FIDM was the right choice for me because they are the best in the industry. The curriculum for my major is directly applicable to what the industry requires of product developers. I know after graduating FIDM, I will be prepared for the competitive world of fashion.

Describe your entrance project. It consisted of five sketches of modified runway looks. My target audience was single, successful women in their late twenties to early forties living in the big city. These women are independent, educated, sophisticated, yet still want to feel and look young and beautiful. All of my looks can be worn from the office straight to a night on the town. What I love about my project is that my thirty-year-old sisters, my mom, or I could all wear these dresses and still feel comfortable and confident. The looks are timeless and classy.

What are your career goals? I hope to one day be the lead product developer for an influential women fashion label.

What do you expect to learn at FIDM? I expect to learn the skills and knowledge that will help me land my first job in the fashion industry. From there, the success is in my hands. I want to learn all aspects of how to plan, develop, present and execute fashion lines. The instructors and resources FIDM offers are top of the line and are some of the most influential in the industry. I look forward to learning what it takes to make it in fashion.
