The Standard, the popular collection of boutique hotels, profiles their staff in an online feature called Family Portraits. They recently conducted a Q&A with current FIDM Student Mallory Colin, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Design while working at the Downtown L.A. property as a Design Assistant. In the feature, the Davis, California native reports that she is currently working on her design thesis, titled "I’ve Got Baggage."
"I’m designing a backpack collection inspired by the importance of maintaining a healthy state of mind in our every day lives," she said. "This project tells the story of those who suffer from mental health issues in a creative way, allowing people to understand this misunderstood world."
