What is your teaching philosophy?
Students first. They are the reason we exist. I believe it is my job to create an environment where students can share and question ideas openly. I believe in asking good questions that lead to discussion and I do not think lecturing adds as much value as student driven inquiry. I do not give grades. Students earn them and I will help them earn the grade they want.
What do you enjoy most about teaching at FIDM?
The students are creative and dedicated. They are great at engaging in discussions and each one is dedicated to finding his/her own path of success.
Tom Selinske is an Outstanding Faculty Award Winner, an award given by the student body to outstanding faculty members.
