How do you apply what you've learned to teaching at FIDM?
“My work at 302 Skincare applies to my Entrepreneurship and Fundamentals of Body Care classes. My certifications in nutrition have led me to do research on how various foods affect the skin, which is useful in my Fundamentals classes and Wellness/Spa classes.”
Describe a favorite class project:
“I really love the students getting involved with research, so they have an assignment in Fundamentals of Body & Hair Care to research a skincare company of their choice. They are required to analyze and evaluate this company from every angle as well as compare/contrast it to another similar company. They also do an in-depth, hands-on project researching various kinds and types of shampoos – from inexpensive to organic varieties! And they actually make their own skincare products: cleanser, masque, exfoliate, and astringent.”
What do you enjoy most about teaching at FIDM?
“The students-they are extremely interesting, highly creative individuals who are going to be the movers and shakers of tomorrow!”
