Tell us a bit about yourself. My hobbies include creating inspirational art out of recycled materials, so people realize that there's more to objects other than trashing them. I love shopping, and staying active. I'm inspired by the people's minds. We are able to think outside the box--it just depends on how one expresses it.
What is your proudest accomplishment? My proudest accomplishments in life have been creating recycled dresses that were in different art shows, getting accepted into FIDM, and just being able to say that I'm living the life I am with the people who surround me.
What made FIDM right for you? I knew FIDM was right for me the minute I saw the school -- the building itself, seeing the people, and staff. I just knew I wanted to be surrounded by people who have the same goals as me. I wanted to study and pursue my dreams in a school with a great fashion program and FIDM is it. The staff made me feel really welcome and it just felt like my home away from home.
Tell us about your entrance project. My entrance project was so much fun to work on. I wrote two essays from the heart and my inspiration board was a blast to work on. I cut pictures up and put them together for a great outcome! I always thought outside the box and took the time to show some of the designs in person that I had made. Sketching was challenging. I thought of designs I haven't ever thought of, so it was a good way to challenge my brain to think. I printed everything up nicely and made it into a small portfolio.
What are your career goals? To graduate from FIDM and open a boutique with one-of-a-kind pieces designed by me. I'd also love to be part of the world's greatest fashion runways.
What do you expect to learn at FIDM? I expect to learn everything that I need to know to be the greatest designer and to build a strong self-esteem to bring it like nobody has ever before.
