Award-winning Costume Designer

We live in a jeans and T-shirt world, but we all want to live in a palace.”

A California native, legendary designer Bob Mackie has dressed some of the most iconic women in entertainment: Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Ethel Merman, Judy Garland, and Cher to name a few. He is the rare designer to successfully transition from costume design to fashion design to set design. His highly successful partnership with Mattel on a special line of Barbie collectibles is a tribute to his popularity as a designer.

Mackie has been recognized with nine Emmy Awards, three Academy Award nominations, and the unique CFDA award for "Fashion Exuberance." His signature glamorous style has earned him the title, "sultan of sequins, rajah of rhinestones."
