Decisive: How to Make Better Choices in Life and Work

  • ,

Our lives are a series of decisions big and small, but biases in our thinking such as using only the most accessible information, conflicted feelings, and being overconfident often lead us to make poor ones. The old stand-by, the pros-and-cons list, is simplistic and ineffective. They suggest adding one or two more options and alternatives, consulting people with experience, and remembering your core priorities, i.e. what is the most important thing to me or to my company? The easiest thing to do when faced with a tough decision is to ask yourself how you would advise your best friend, and then, take your own advice! Decisive was an enjoyable and thought-provoking read and I highly recommend it.
