First launched in February 2007, Ecotextile News is an influential business–to–business magazine dedicated to the production of sustainable and ethical textiles and apparel. Written for retailers, fabric specifiers and buyers, and forward thinking textile and apparel companies worldwide, it is published six times per year in the UK, in both print and digital formats.
Subscribers have access to premium categorized online news content, which includes thousands of unique stories and the weekly e–news bulletin. The publisher, MCL Global, plans to launch their own cross platform news app, which will be available as a free download for iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, and Windows 7 devices.
The publication offers detailed, thorough information on the latest developments in all areas of the sustainable textile industry all around the world. It covers raw material selection, fashion trends, show reports, energy use and efficiency, expert guidance on dyeing and finishing, eco–labelling, restricted substances, recycling, and new product development. One recent article explored Puma’s newly launched Environmental Profit and Loss Account (EP&L), which signifies a strategic commitment and input to sustainability. Puma aims for 50% more sustainable products by 2015. Ecotextile News is the most recognized and leading platform in the sustainable textile industry and creates awareness about how to reduce the textile industry’s impact on our already troubled planet.
