If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what about a moving picture? Known for his work with iconic names in fashion dating back before the dawn of the internet, photographer Nick Knight went to the next level and took the art of imagery to an online platform in the world of art, fashion, and culture. With SHOWstudio’s launch in 2000 under Knight’s creative direction, the fashion image was transformed by the internet forum. Exploring the possibilities with technology and digital media, SHOWstudio has led the way for other fashion websites.

One of the strengths of the site is Knight’s ability to attract the crème de la crème of the fashion community as collaborators. Kate Moss, Gareth Pugh, and the late Alexander McQueen have been featured on the site. Surrealist pop queen Bjork and Vivienne Westwood artist Tracey Emin have also collaborated with Knight.

Interacting with its viewers, audiences may also follow real-time reportage of catwalks with fashion’s most influential designer collections. Tab headings within SHOWstudio’s homepage offer a place to shop for unique items with featured designers and readers can indulge in in-depth conversations from fashion figures and worldwide creatives.
