Jessica Comingore - Graduate
FIDM Interior Design Specialties Program
Interior Designer, Chris Barret Design
FIDM taught me the skill set I
needed to know to apply for a job
in the field and how to network and
make the most out of their resources
and industry connections."
Interior Design Specialties graduate Jessica Comingore is an Interior Designer and Marketing Director at Chris Barret Design, a design firm whose work has been featured in the pages of numerous magazines including House Beautiful, Town & Country, and Sunset Magazine.
Jessica's portfolio includes interior design for Comme Ca restaurant in West Hollywood, Hotel Oceana in Santa Monica, and several private residences in Manhattan Beach, Los Feliz, and Malibu.
What is a typical day like?
A typical day can be anything from prepping a presentation and meeting with a client to review their project, meeting with our textile design team to finalize colorways and pattern layouts, or simply spending the day behind the computer designing our latest marketing mailers, or drafting elevations for a project.
What are your short-term/long-term career goals?
I'd like to delve more into graphic design and branding as that has become a very strong passion for me. I'd like to enroll in a few more courses to get my feet wet in that arena, and long term I'd definitely like to own my own multi-discipline design firm. I don't like limiting myself to the term "interior designer" as I feel my interests lie throughout the design spectrum: product design, graphic design, interior design... you name it.

Brandon Love - Graduate
FIDM Interior Design Program
My first project with will be
the W Hotel in NYC... Hold on
to your hats, it's gonna blow
people away"
Brandon Love was recently hired by an award-winning architectural design firm with offices in Berlin, Beijing, and Los Angeles. Though his contract stipulates that he can't give the firm's name in publications, Brandon did tell us: "I would best describe their work as high-end 'Rebel Architecture' because they are known literally for twisting, sculpting, and bending all the rules of design. My experience so far has been great. The people here are very fun, edgy, and creative."

Kristina Stolting - Student
FIDM Fashion Design Program
FIDM Student Kristina Stolting is studying Fashion Design on the San Francisco campus and hopes to continue her studies by applying for the Film & TV Costume Design program at FIDM Los Angeles.
"There are so many amazing resources that the school offers, I really recommend taking advantage of them! The career center set me up backstage as a dresser at my first fashion show and it was a great experience. Besides the career opportunities, you get to meet so many talented and passionate people every day; it really is an amazing community."
