My FIDM Fashion Club ScholarshipA Full Year of Tuition! (High School Juniors)
Any student member of an approved FIDM Fashion Club Chapter (Club Leader/Club Member) is eligible to enter the My FIDM Fashion Club Scholarship Competition in the spring of either their junior or senior year.
One winner is selected from entrants in their junior year to receive a one-year full scholarship to attend FIDM after their senior year. Additionally, two winners are selected from entrants in their senior year, and each winner receives a $5000 scholarship. Two full one-year scholarships toward tuition, books, and most supplies are given to the First Place winners in Fashion Design and Interior Design, selected by FHA-HERO in their statewide (California) competition. In addition, a $500 scholarship for their first year at FIDM is awarded to high school students who are members in their senior year. One year only. Non-renewable.Phi Theta Kappa(College Transfers)
Phi Theta Kappa is the national honor society for 2-year colleges. Students who transfer to FIDM, having been a qualified Phi Theta Kappa member at another 2-year college, can receive a $3000 scholarship toward their initial year at FIDM.

Students must demonstrate academic achievement (GPA and course rigor evaluation) through Admissions application materials. Additional essay required. Amounts vary.

Students with a minimum 2.75 GPA must demonstrate artistic achievement and/or demonstrate extensive industry background through Admissions application materials. Additional essay required. Amounts vary.

DECA students are eligible to receive a $500 - $1000 scholarship. DECA State Officers are eligible to receive an additional $1500 scholarship. DECA students who win state competitions in the Apparel and Accessories Marketing and Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan categories are eligible to receive an additional $1500.

FCCLA students are eligible to receive a $500 - $1000 scholarship. FCCLA State Officers are eligible to receive an additional $1500 scholarship. First Place winners of the following FCCLA State Leadership Conference competition categories will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship toward their first year at FIDM: Fashion Design, Interior Design, Recycle & Redesign, and Visual Merchandising.

• San Diego: School of Creative & Performing Arts (SCPA)

Academically qualified high school students who enroll during their junior year, or before their senior year, are eligible for scholarship consideration starting at $500 toward their first year at FIDM. High School students who are a member of the BP Nordstrom Teen Board in their senior year are eligible to receive a $500 scholarship toward their first year at FIDM.

• The student's participation in the organization must occur during his/her senior year.
• The student must plan to begin college in the Summer or Fall quarter following graduation from high school.
• The student must complete the ROP/ROCP course, and the course must relate to one of FIDM's Majors. Such courses would include, but are not limited to: Computer Graphics, E-Marketing, Retail Merchandising/Sales, Marketing/Advertising, Business Management/Entrepreneurship, Fashion Design/Merchandising, Mrketing/Advertising, and Video Production.

A Full Year of Tuition! (January 1 – April 30; High School Seniors, Graduates, and College Transfers Only)
The largest and best known of our scholarships for new students offers a one-year full scholarship to one student in each of the following seven categories: Fashion Executive of Tomorrow, Interior Designer of Tomorrow, Graphic Designer of Tomorrow, Fashion Designer of Tomorrow, Visual Designer of Tomorrow, Digital Media Artist of Tomorrow and Trend Spotter of Tomorrow. Additionally, there are $5000 scholarships awarded to three finalists in each category. One year only. Non-renewable.* Students are also required to maintain satisfactory progress for scholarship renewal of academic year (9 months). All A.A. and B.S. students must complete each 9-month academic year within 12 months to be eligible for renewal.

Federal Pell GrantsMoney received from this program is a grant and does not have to be repaid. Aid is disbursed quarterly. This program is designed to provide financial assistance for students determined by the federal government guidelines to be eligible for financial aid. FIDM receives an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) which is used to determine a student's eligibility.Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)This grant is available to students who demonstrate extreme financial need and is used to augment aid from other assistance programs. Funding received from this program does not need to be repaid. Aid is distributed quarterly.Federal Perkins LoansThis is a federal loan for students who demonstrate extreme financial need and is used to augment aid from other programs. Repayment begins nine months after the student leaves college.Federal Subsidized Stafford LoanThis is a federal loan based on financial need and borrowed from the government. The federal government pays interest on the loan while the student is enrolled at least halftime and during the grace period. Repayment of the loan begins six months after the student leaves college or drops below half-time attendance. Loan maximums between the subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans cannot exceed the published annual loan limits.Federal Unsubsidized Stafford LoansThis loan is not based on financial need and the same process as the Subsidized Stafford loan determines eligibility. The terms of the loan are similar to the Subsidized Stafford loan; however, the student is responsible for the interest during in-school and deferment periods. Loan maximums between the subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans cannot exceed the published annual loan limits.Federal PLUS LoanThis program assists parents with good credit histories in borrowing for their dependent student's educational expenses. A creditworthy co-borrower may cosign the PLUS loan with the parent.Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP)Aid received from this program consists of wages paid for work. Earnings are not applied to the student's account at FIDM. Students interested in participating in this program must contact FIDM's Financial Services Office.Veterans Educational BenefitsFIDM is approved to participate in a number of programs administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Information regarding eligibility for the veterans educational programs may be obtained by calling the toll-free number 1-888-GI-BILL-1 (1-888-442- 4551) to speak with a Veterans Benefits Counselor or by visiting the website at: http://www.gibill.va.gov.
