FIDM awards a number of scholarships for new students, administered through recommendation from the Admissions Office. Scholarships are offered based on a varying combination of qualities such as academic merit, financial need, extensive industry experience, or artistic achievement. Scholarship recipients are expected to be particularly strong and positive leaders once they are in attendance at FIDM, excelling academically and representing FIDM well within the community.
Many scholarships are determined through review of Admissions application materials. Certain competitive scholarships have additional requirements.
Please note: The scholarships listed above are subject to change. Some scholarships are awarded for the first year only. Many FIDM scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 at FIDM and financial eligibility in many cases. Students must reapply for consideration annually and be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status. Students must also maintain 12 units quarterly to qualify for scholarship renewal.
An annual award is disbursed over three quarters at FIDM. Students may qualify for more than one scholarship but not to exceed the cost of tuition, books and supplies. In order for scholarship recipients to use their award(s) at FIDM, they must plan to begin their studies at FIDM in the first or second academic quarter for which they are eligible following their graduation from high school. In addition, they must meet all Admissions Requirements, including a recommendation from their Admissions Advisor.
