eLearning Explained

eLearning is, essentially, a form of learning that doesn't exclusively take place in a classroom.

With eLearning, the educational experience can take place anywhere, on campus and in your own home using a computer with an Internet connection.

Can real learning take place outside of a physical classroom?

Yes. eLearning Programs ideally are set up to specifically model what it’s like to attend a class on-campus. eLearning students should be granted the same quality education as students on campus and have immediate access to valuable campus resources.

FIDM's elearning students have access to:

  • FIDM Library
  • Career Counselors
  • Enthusiastic, knowledgeable Instructors

We’ve made it easy for our students to communicate with their classmates and instructors. As eLearning participants, they are part of a vibrant online community of educators and students.

What is the Virtual Classroom?

A Virtual Classroom is an online version of an on-campus classroom. On our password-protected eLearning site, students are able to:

  • Receive assignments
  • Take tests
  • Learn with interactive exercises
  • Work on group projects
  • Communicate with instructors and classmates
  • View announcements from instructors and other important information
  • Access our 24/7 tech support
