Anne Gray

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Anne Gray moved with her family to Sweden for a year when she was nine, where she developed a taste for folk costume and cultural history. Encouraged by an artistic and craft-oriented family, she learned to knit and weave, and began making costumes as a hobby. Although she earned a BA degree in Biology, costume was still calling her, so she volunteered in the costume shop for Colorado University’s theatre productions. Directly after this, she moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in FIDM to study Fashion Design. Upon graduation, Anne was awarded the Costume Designer’s Guild Scholarship Award which enabled her to attend FIDM’s third-year program in Theatre Costume Design.
