Twenty one graduates from the FIDM Textile Design program showcased their portfolios at the annual Textile Design Exhibit held in the FIDM Gallery from June 10, 1999 through June 19, 1999. The Exhibit featured surface print designs of original art as well as CAD (Computer Assisted Design) and structural design of fabric and clothing that had been woven or knitted.

This year GRAPHIX Digital Printing Co. sponsored the production of a beautiful fabric banner for each student. The banners were created from original student designs using a totally new and advanced high resolution digital print reproduction process that is revolutionizing Textile Design as well as finished garments.

Ellen Huang was chosen by TALA (Textile Association of Los Angeles) as the Outstanding Textile Design Student, 1999. Internships from GRAPHIX Digital Printing Co. were awarded to Kathryn Schulz, Jennifer Miraflor and Si-Yeoun Lee. Winners of Red Calliope's Print for Infant Bedding contest were Ellen Huang and Haesun Koo. Hae Keong Park and Eun Young Moon were given internships to Design Resources Textile Design Studio.
