Textile Designer

Live in a material world.  Create textile designs for a variety of markets, including wovens, knits, prints, apparel, and interiors.  A Textile Designer can be a Surface Designer, Knitter, Weaver, or Embroiderer.

Textile Stylist

Get trendy about textiles.  Work with clients and merchandising departments to plan future fabric groups.  Develop designs based on color, print, woven, and knit trends in the market.  Travel to national and international markets to research trends.

Surface Designer

Design at the top level.  Develop surface and decorative patterns for apparel, embroidery, lace, upholstery, carpets, area rugs, wallpaper, dinnerware, bedding, and wrapping paper.

Knit Designer

Pattern your career.  Develop yarn dyes and jacquard patterns for sweaters, unique stitch structures, and fabric swatches.  Produce sketches for presentations to potential customers and develop merchandising and presentation boards.

Colorist

Get colorful.  Choose color combinations for Textile Designs.  Stay current on new color trends by traveling to different fashion markets and consulting with color forecasting associations.
