Playtime at Disney Store North America
Sky Liu
FIDM Grad Sky Liu already had a B.A. degree in Planning, Public Policy, and Management, but what he really wanted was a creative career. FIDM was the perfect fit! After receiving his Professional Designation degree in Fashion Design, Liu went on to complete FIDM's Advanced Study Program in International Manufacturing & Product Development. Now a Production Manager for Toys for Disney Store North America, Liu credits his FIDM education for his success.
What was your FIDM experience like?
It was incredible! I was able to further explore my talents in an environment that helped foster the creative passion that I have. I really enjoyed the support and resources the school had to offer, but it didn't stop when school ended. There are many avenues of support for alumni to continue their success after graduation.
Why did you choose FIDM's International Manufacturing & Product Development degree?
What attracted me to FIDM in the first place was the Advanced Study Program in Fashion Design. Once I got to FIDM, I learned of the other 3rd-Year programs that were equally impressive and I felt that IMPD would provide me with an even broader foundation to build upon. I saw the incredible opportunity in working and partnering with a large company to develop a line of apparel from start to finish.
What are some of the perks of being a Production Manager for Toys for Disney Store North America?
I shop the market for trends, attend trade shows, and travel to Hong Kong to work with the company's overseas office. I absolutely love getting up in the morning and actually look forward to going into work.
