FIDM Students Build a Playhouse for Charity
For the first time ever, Interior Design Students from FIDM are helping to build a one-of-a-kind playhouse to be auctioned off for charity. The students are helping to design the "Forever Fashionable Beach House," one of nine playhouses being build for Project Playhouse®, a fundraiser for HomeAid Orange County that benefits the area’s homeless families.
Make a Donation
You can get in on the fun and “purchase” parts such as doors, awnings, or windows to raise funds for construction. To make a donation to the “Forever Fashionable Beach House” and see the students' progress, please visit www.FashionablePlayhouse.com.
Working Together for a Cause
FIDM Students Mark Griffin, Erin Carrere, and Olivia Sibert, along with FIDM Instructor Laurell Boppell are working side by side with top designers, architects, and builders from around Orange Country, "I've brought together an excellent team!" says FIDM Instructor Mima Ransom, who is also the Project Coordinator for the playhouse undertaking. "I'm really excited about bringing the college and community together."
You can see all nine playhouses at Orange County’s Irvine Spectrum Center from August 1 to September 12, 2009. Visit http://www.ProjectPlayhouse.org for more details.
