Marlene Stewart Masterminding a Transformation of Character and Gender

FIDM alumni Marlene Stewart's incredible transformation of actors Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo in To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar into character actresses Noxeema, Vida and Chi-Chi mesmerized moviegoers around the world. Stewart provided each with distinctly different looks expressing their individual self-images and attitudes.

"Vida is someone who has been brought up on Vogue from Day One, so she's a real retrospect of fashion, from Balenciaga gowns to the Adrian look," explains Stewart.

"Noxeema is more of a hip New York sort of girl, and she reflects that urban assurance.

Chi Chi starts off with much too much of everything and goes through her glamorous transformation."

Stewart's other film credits include True Lies, Terminator 2, Dangerous Games, I'll Do Anything, Falling Down, Point of No Return, JFK, The Doors, Pet Sematary, Wild Orchid, Siesta, Back to the Beach and The River Wild. She is also responsible for the image-making creations in 11 Madonna music videos.

Currently she is working on the upcoming film The Saint, starring Val Kilmer.
